Tactical Buyer Direct – Raw Materials

       Based in: Breda (hybrid)

This is where we need you

We are looking for a proactive and analytical Tactical Procurement Buyer – Raw Materials to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for raw materials, ensuring cost efficiency, supply continuity, and quality standards across our operations.

As Buyer raw materials you will be in charge of all this portfolio, support the Procurement team Benelux and work together to negotiate contracts, secure supply and drive performance. By collaborating with the local, regional and global Procurement team you will be able to identify projects based on cost reduction, strategic sourcing and/or other related topics, run high value negotiations and provide solutions to risks. Using your strong analysis skills and attention to detail, you will strive to maintain and improve quality of vendor service levels.

Your core tasks in a nutshell

    l Market research and enquiries at local, regional and international level to identify potential suppliers
    l Handling the supplier qualification process (data, documentation and system related topics)
    l Support supplier performance evaluations (OTIF, quality, responsiveness).
    l Ensure timely availability of raw materials by managing lead times, stock levels, and delivery schedules.
    l Handle supplier communication and relationship management at the operational level.
    l Managing material master data and contracts in SAP
    l Running RFQ to suppliers and completing negotiations
    l Data update in SAP (Material master data, purchase cost, contract prices)
    l Manage the sourcing and procurement relationship with relevant stakeholders (SC/R&D/Operations/Finance)
    l Actively search for savings by analyzing history, trends and forecasts of the related services, materials and suppliers, in support to the regional and global team
    l Report and analyze supplier performance information - scorecards, SLAs, and KPIs etc. with the purpose to drive continuous improvements and leverage decision making;
    l Provide detailed supplier knowledge, market data, including financial performance and turns these into actionable insights in order to help carve out Perfetti Van Melle’s competitive edge;
    l Identify opportunities that focus on cost reductions, efficiencies/quality improvements, risk mitigation, industry and supply trends and shifts in technology;
    l Follow supplier and market trends and their impact on future activities and draws conclusions to provide insights into important developments which could impact Perfetti Van Melle;
    l Exhibit and act with integrity by maintaining compliance with internal policies, procedures and all regulatory and governmental regulations and laws

The ideal recipe of our buyer

We may not have to tell you that you are strong in stakeholder relationships with excellent communication skills (but we do it to be sure!). These are, in our opinion, the ideal ingredients to make this role a success:

•    You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics;
•    Did you get certified for NEVI I? That’s great!
•    You have strong project management skills;

•    You have about 5 years of experience in Procurement, preferably in Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry and experience with the direct (RM/PM)  category;

•    You have the ability to work under pressure, think quickly and demonstrate initiative in solving problems;
•    You are result driven and have excellent analytical skills;
•    You are fluent in English, verbal and written (Dutch is a plus)

•  You are pragmatic and action-oriented and you have the ability to translate business needs into solutions;
