Operational Excellence Specialist

OVERVIEW

Perfetti Van Melle (makers of Mentos, Airheads, Dentyne, Trident and Bubblicious!) is one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide. We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Operational Excellence Specialist to join our growing team.   

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm – M-F

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Operational Excellence Specialist is responsible for ensure data integrity, support operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement by accurately maintaining data systems, analyzing trends, managing inventory and orders, and collaborating cross-functionally to standardize processes and enhance performance tracking. This role also supports Supervisors by providing timely, accurate data and insights to help them make informed decisions and perform their roles effectively. Efficiently and safely operate and monitor all packaging equipment to maintain product flow from discharge of the extruder to palletize.

• Foster a clean and maintain a safe work environment, utilize JSA’s and Risk Assessment to mitigate and prevent injuries or incidents.
• Complete timely investigation reports and documentation regarding incidents accordingly
• Enhance quality as well as reduce waste while working with Value Stream Supervisors to drive change and minimize loss to defects and holds
• Maintain GMP policies at all levels of the organization
• Inform the appropriate departments of major Production issues and participate in resolution of the problem.
• Including working with Planning, Maintenance and Supply Chain inside the Value Stream to maintain Production efficiency and scheduled delivery
• Execute data mining and evaluation pertinent to process enhancement related to Value Stream scrap
• Develops / Execute/Standard Work, develop SOP’s, and Work Instructions for Operations working with Value Stream Supervisor
• Establish, standardize and execute continuous improvement strategies support the supervisors with KPI’s, Downtime and Scrap

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• A high school diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.
• Two years’ practical experience in data management, data analysis, or related fields is highly preferred. Adapting approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations.
• Making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and quantitative abilities to identify and solve complex problems.
• Creating new and better ways for the organisation to be successful.
• Seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as data analysis software and project management tools.
• Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
