We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Regulatory Affairs Manager to join our growing team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The ideal candidate will ensure and supervise the compliance of the PVM's food products, mainly chewing gum and candies, with laws, technical standards, and Global's policies. This role will support the Global Regulatory Teams in managing the compliance of toys, prize promotions, and advertisements as well as monitoring legislative developments related to some sustainability topics. This person will define strategies for areas of responsibility and implement them while anticipating opportunities and potential issues for the business, identifying the most appropriate regulatory action plan. This role will guide colleagues and management in decision-making processes regarding areas of responsibility, in alignment their manager. This role will engage directly in external affairs with trade associations and authorities, and plan and lead the team's activities by providing guidance, defining performance goals, and supervising tasks. Additional responsibilities include:
- Supervise and ensure that the legislative developments applicable to the Company’s products are effectively monitored and shared with other functions also assessing their impact on the business
- Supervise and ensure the management of technical-regulatory affairs as for the topics and activities of competence.
- Will work closely with Marketing and R&D providing advice on project feasibility and compliance, additives, ingredients, raw materials, etc.
- Supervise and assist in the preparation of ingredient lists and nutrition information upon recipe shared by R&D.
- Supervise and approve the product labels, providing advice.
- Support in verifying and providing advice of advertisement and promotional material
- Develop and maintain relations with trade category associations and external stakeholders (consultants, professional Institutes, Labs, etc) also participating in association meetings
- May contribute in preparing Company's position statements.
- May support in the factory/office audits carried out by the national authority.
- May be involved in the management of administrative objections raised by competent authority with regard to food regulatory aspects of competence.
- As for the topics of responsibility carries out the risk assessment in coordination with the functional Manager to evaluate opportunities and risks in case of critical issues or regulatory-legal cases.
- May be involved in the Crisis Management.
- Support in ensuring the compliance of toys and prize promotions in alignment with Global Regulatory Toy and Prize Promotion Team.
- Assist on strategic Company’s projects in collaboration with other functions.
- Attend trade association meetings, supporting the Company’s position.
- Support in managing possible administrative cases.
- Monitor legislation and carry out impact assessment of some sustainability topics in alignment with the Global Regulatory Sustainability Team.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Minimum of 10 year of experience in Regulatory Affairs with industry relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or similarly related field.
- Extensive expertise in food law and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to facilitate and lead strategic planning.
- Ability to quickly establish credibility and navigate across the organization while engaging others to ensure that the most effective solutions are implemented.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written.
- Strong ability to move between tactical and strategic aspects of business.
- Previous management experience.
- Ability to quickly and effectively organize teams to work accomplish roles based on changing priorities.
- Risk Management.
