WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Commercial Finance Manger is responsible for driving:
-
- Brand and Category agenda in Japan including leadership of the financial interventions required for brand performance, brand strategy, innovation, marketing spend and ensuring compliance and controls are applied and embedded at all times.
- Interaction with supply chain community to manage forecasting of PL / Cash.
- Operational Excellence by supervising and working together with Shared Service Team in Hong Kong (Reporting / booking / closing is manged by HK Shared Service) to manage PL / BS and Cash.
The successful candidate is the co-pilot to each functions and Management Team providing strong business partnership support and together, drive and execute brand / category / customer / channel business strategies. The goal is to bring his/her commercial and financial skills and experience to create value, via performance management and strategy to execution.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILTIIES
Business Partner
- Drive business partnership with PVMJ on ad hoc requests
- Drive and support S&OP process with local MT and P&D teams
- Lead Revenue Management Project
- Conduct margin review and reports / factors affecting profitability of products
- Review Trade Spend and Marketing Spend discussions with the MT
FP&A through Budgeting, LE and LRP
- Responsible for all operational activities for annual LE and Budget
- Prepare the monthly RRF and review with country and logistic teams
- Prepare the analysis on LE & Budget and monthly RRF (and business presentations)
Review of Reporting & Process of Shared Service
- Supporting FD improving/establishing wow w/ HK finance team
- Supporting FD establishing effective information sharing/reporting process btw HK and JPN, etc
Proficiency in the English language, written and verbal, is required to be effective in this role.

Education, Qualifications and Training
- Education: Relevant Tertiary Qualifications
- Professional qualification: Member of recognized accounting body or similar qualification (international)
Experience required
- 10-12 years of work experience
- Experience with working in professional and multinational company, preferably in FMCG
- Previous Commercial Finance experience preferred
- Experience of Compliance and Controls preferred
Specialised Knowledge or Skills required
- This role drives the brand and category performance agenda across business strategy, innovation and Marketing Spend.
- Strong inter-personal skills, presence and influence to maintain effective professional relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Communicates effectively both verbal and written
- Highly analytical and able to deliver financial data in a user friendly and relevant manner
- Possesses business acumen and is keen about business drivers behind the numbers
- Deep understanding and curiosity on consumers and shoppers behaviours and what drives them
- Continually brings the outside in – consumers, customers, category, competition
- Ability to work effectively in a complex matrix environment and natural instinct to reach out to understand proactively help find ways of doing things better
- Highly self-motivated, self-start and results oriented.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
