WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Commercial Manager for Hong Kong and Taiwan is responsible for contributing business growth, profitability, and commercial excellence across both markets. This role oversees all commercial activities – including sales strategy, pricing, customer and distributor management, contract negotiations, and market expansion – to ensure alignment with overall business objectives. The Commercial Manager acts as the key business partner to cross-functional teams (e.g. marketing, finance, supply chain, and operations) to deliver sustainable revenue growth and maximize market potential in these territories.
This role will strategically lead and enable the commercial agenda in Hong Kong and Taiwan businesses, and manage distributor partnerships as a best business consultant, and drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver sustainable growth and execution excellence. The role also includes people management, with one direct report (Brand Manager).
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Business Strategy & Growth
- Develop commercial strategies tailored to Hong Kong and Taiwan markets
- Identify untapped opportunities across channels and consumer segments to realize the market potential
- Design long range portfolio and business with performance tracking
Distributor Management
- Manage and build strong partnerships with distributors in both Hong Kong and Taiwan
- Enable JBP (joint-business planning) process on sales targets, execution plans, channel development strategies
- Enable execution excellence on the aligned business plans by guiding and influencing the organization of distributor
- Gather market intelligence and demand inputs to feed into planning cycles
Financial Management
- Contribute to deliver top line and bottom line for Hong Kong and Taiwan
- Set and monitor sales targets, budgets, and forecasts and plan annual budget with solid commercial plans
- Ensure financial discipline, fund management with strong compliance and ROI-driven decision-making
S&OP Management
- Manage the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the two markets
- Consolidate demand inputs from distributors and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory management
Product & Innovation Planning and management
- Work closely with the Brand Manager to develop and execute NPD (New Product Development) plans
- Partner with NEA Marketing to localize innovation, go-to-market strategies and budget management
- Contribute exceptional execution of marketing campaign and NPD in-store execution by guiding the distributor
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with NEA Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and other key functions, and with total EFE
- Ability to lead with and through others, across multiple geographies and various stakeholders, internally and externally
People Management
- Lead and develop one direct report (Brand Manager)
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and growth-oriented culture
OUR PERFECT CANDIDATE
- 8+ years of commercial experience in FMCG or consumer-focused industries.
- Distributor management skills
- People manager skill to grow people and enable people
- Strong track record in distributor management and business development.
- Solid understanding of financials and P&L management.
- Experience leading S&OP and demand planning processes.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and teams.
- Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
- Based in Hong Kong or open to relocation.
- A self-starter, can develop and initiate strategies and execution with minimal supervision but high collaboration
