Roles and Responsibilities

This position is accountable for supporting regulatory activities and ensuring compliance of Perfetti Van Melle confectionery products (chewing gums, candies) with laws and technical standards applicable to Food Industry as well as Group’s Policies.

 

Territories Involved: Far East markets (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand), Philippines and Japan, possible additional countries in Asia and other regions

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work within Group Regulatory Affairs to ensure the compliance of Company’s products and labels with food law and technical standards, and other regulations applicable to toys, prize promotions and advertisements
  • The role will work with different internal and external stakeholders (national authorities, trade associations, consultants and law firms, laboratories, RDQ, Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology/Food Engineering/Biology or Chemistry ore related science
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in Food Regulatory Affairs/ Quality/ R&D in multinational companies from the food industry
  • Relevant expertise and experience in raw materials assessment, preparation of Ingredients List and Nutrition Information, Additives/ Ingredients limits and compliance
  • Relevant experience with national authorities and administrative regulatory matters
  • Good knowledge of food laws with a specific focus on technical standards and food additives regulations and labelling requirements
  • Strong interest in working with database, learning and studying various countries’ food legislation and standards
  • Proficient in English. Good to know other languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Thai language
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Work in a Team, cooperate and communicate well across the company
  • Good time management and project management skills
  • Ability to analyze issues and recognize gaps in processes, can combine scientific knowledge with legal aspects
  • Ability to manage complexities and handle proprietary and confidential information
