Job overview

The Record-to-Report (RtR) is part of our SSC Finance team, and acts as a key sparring partner for Sales, Marketing, and Finance stakeholders across the business.

As a Senior RtR General Accountant Commerce, you will oversee accounting processes related to commercial operations, including sales, marketing, and trade promotions. You will ensure that commerce-related financial data is accurately recorded and compliant with global accounting standards.

Based in Warsaw in a hybrid working model, you will collaborate closely with international stakeholders and report to the Finance leadership team located in Breda, Netherlands.

You will also play an important role in driving process improvements and ensuring strong internal controls across commerce-related financial activities.

Your core responsibilities at a glance:

In this role, you will:

• Oversee the preparation and reconciliation of journal entries related to sales, marketing, and trade promotions
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards for revenue recognition and commercial transactions
• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for commerce-related accounts
• Prepare and present financial reports related to commercial activities for senior management
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to gather data and provide financial insights
• Manage trade promotion accounting, including accruals, rebates, and discounts
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and support audit processes
• Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in commerce-related accounting processes.

The ideal recipe for our new RtR General Accountant Commerce – Senior

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or CIMA) is a plus
• 5+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience, preferably in FMCG and multinational environment
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and revenue recognition principles
• Experience with trade promotion accounting, commercial finance, or sales finance
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and international stakeholders
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
